How a Shift Runs on SeniorCRE — 7am to 3pm
Most senior care software is sold in a conference room with a slide that says “unified.” This is what unified actually means on the floor — an 8-hour shift, in order, with the data trail each event leaves.
What this shift would look like on an 8–12 vendor stack
The same shift, on a fragmented stack, touches a different system at almost every row. Med pass in the eMAR, ADL in the EHR, family note in the portal, incident in the risk system, census in the bed board, billing in the GL, agency alert in the scheduler, evidence pull from the BI overlay. Every transition is either a manual re-entry or an integration that is currently working or currently broken.
The reconciliation labor that follows the shift — the part nobody includes in TCO models — is the cost of making the stack agree about what happened on the floor. On a unified record, that labor is zero, because there is reconciliation happens once, under the operator’s approved rules.
What to do next
If you’ve managed a shift — or watched a Director of Nursing manage one — this walkthrough should read as recognizable. If anything in it reads as aspirational, write to us at: /contact . We’ll either show you that surface in production or tell you exactly when it ships.
Frequently asked questions
- Is this a real shift?
- It is a composite of the actual workflows the platform supports, sequenced as a representative AL/MC day shift. Every event shown corresponds to a real product surface in the platform. No event is hypothetical; the resident is.
- How many systems does this shift touch?
- One. Every event posts to the same resident record, ledger, care plan, and audit log. The same shift on an 8–12 vendor stack would touch eMAR, EHR, family portal, incident system, scheduling, billing, BI overlay, and corporate reporting — each with its own login, schema, and reconciliation labor.
- What happens if a step fails?
- Every event has an explicit failure path documented in the platform. A refusal, hold, or mismatch is documented rather than overridden silently. A failed family notification queues for retry and surfaces on the responsible staff member\
- Where does the data trail go?
- Into the single resident record (clinical, ADL, family, incident), the single ledger (billing, payer, agency cost), the single audit log (immutable, append-only), and the single dashboard layer (operator, regional, investor). No BI overlay required to reconcile disagreement.
- Can I see the equivalent night shift?
- A night-shift walkthrough is in preparation. Email support@seniorcre.com to request the draft or to suggest events to include.
